Psychodrama, Sociodrama and Group Work Training

This is an intensive residential training seminar for beginner, intermediate and advanced trainees, involving teaching and supervised practice. There will be training and individualised teaching in psychodrama, sociodrama and group work to fit the differing work situations and interests of participants. There will also be opportunities for trainees to present aspects of their work where they are applying the psychodramatic or sociodramatic method or principles of group work.

The Purpose

The purpose of this training is to bring about a greater knowledge of the theory and practice of psychodrama, sociodrama, role training and group work and a greater ability to use the psychodramatic and sociodramatic methods; whether in a psychodrama therapy or growth group, in community groups, in individual counselling and psychotherapy, in education, staff training or in pastoral care and to function in a leadership capacity in groups and organisations.

The Outcomes

Those who attend the training workshop will experience a wide range of concerns emerging in the group sessions. There will be a greater development of new ways of functioning as psychodrama and sociodrama directors, role trainers, auxiliaries, group leaders and group members as a result of contacting other aspects of the self and through supervised practice.

The Methodology

The emphasis in all the training workshops is on supervised experiential learning, producing an integration of theory and practice leading to more satisfaction in professional functioning and personal living.

Who Attends?

These workshops are designed as training experiences for such people as teachers, trainers in organisations, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, counsellors, clergy, occupational therapists, marriage and family counsellors and community workers. The workshop is designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced trainees.

There will be a maximum of 20 trainees.
