Advanced, Intermediate and Core Curriculum Psychodrama Training
- The Nelson Branch of WPTI invite you to participate in further training in psychodrama, sociodrama, role training, and sociometry and group work.
- We would like you to be apart of this group regardless of whether you intend to complete your formal psychodrama training
- The training will cover advanced intermediate and beginning training ( core curriculum) in the same group
- The total training consists of 1 weekend with Max Clayton, 7 Saturdays and 6 Tuesdays for beginners only and a peer group for everyone
- The programme is run by Cher Williscroft and Claire Guy who are both certified Trainer Educators Practitioner with ANZPA Inc and experienced practitioners
- During the year we will be expecting trainees to join a peer group that will meet on two Saturdays and in between the Saturday sessions
- Every trainee will be expected to complete a writing assignment during the year
- The venue will be at Cable Bay and in Nelson City
Advanced and Intermediate Training Group
Cost: $1133 (includes Max’s March workshop)
The intermediate/advanced training group builds on the learning from previous experiences with psychodrama. There is a focus on the further integration of theory and practice through teaching,
coaching and supervised practice. The training sessions are complemented by reading, writing, and peer group activities.
This group is designed to fine tune and build on your ability to apply the psychodramatic method in its various forms in whatever professional situation you are in. The training will develop your capacity to apply psychodrama, sociodrama, role training, sociometry and group work methods to your real life examples at work and play or in your family and community. You will bring notes of real life situations and
work on these issues in the group to assist you to develop more progressive functioning or make your next intervention.
Each Saturday will have a different focus including sociometry, social and cultural context and working with psychodrama in one to one situations. Minimum number is 8
The aim of the group is for you to be able to:

Think systemically and analyse a system or make a social investigation

Identify roles and make a role analysis of a system whether working one to one or in a larger group

Make a sociometric analysis of a group

Use the dramatic methods such as doubling, mirroring, concretising, maximising even
when you function without enactment or a stage

Choose an intervention and notice the effect of this

Identify the different values operating and where there is a values 'clash'
Core Curriculum Training Group
Cost: $1371 including Max’s March workshop and 6 extra Tuesday sessions
The curriculum for this training group covers the basic theory and practice of
the psychodrama method. The training is experiential and interactive, and participants will learn
about the application of this method in their life and work. They will also be involved in reading
and writing activities. The core curriculum programme will consist of the same program as the advanced
intermediate training group with an additional six Tuesday early evening sessions. Minimum number is 4.
Experiential Groups
All the staff of the Nelson Branch of WPTI and several advanced trainees run
Experiential Groups some which include a component of training. These groups include psychodrama
groups, action and insight groups for professionals, supervision groups and personal development
groups and are an excellent option for those who wish to do their own personal work rather than be
fully involved in a training programme. Information on experiential
