W3: Sociodrama
Sociodrama is a method for enhancing understanding of groups and
inter-group behaviour. It is participative social analysis that leads to
personal insight and group change. In sociodrama participants enter
social systems so they can experience their own perspectives and
the perspectives of other groups and sub-groups. It is particularly
useful in working with teams in organisations, with education and
community groups.
We will focus on the ability to warm up a group to engage in
sociodrama, to identify relevant themes and create enactment
applicable to small and large group settings. We will be involved in
generating processes that promote integration and practical action
when using sociodrama.

W4: Conducting Difficult Conversations
Being able to manage difficult conversations is an invaluable skill
in professional and workplace settings for managers, colleagues,
employees or consultants. Yet most of us find it hard to talk
frankly about poor performance, contempt, complacency, lateness,
failure to keep contracts, refusal to change and other challenging
organisational behaviour.
This workshop focuses on assisting you to conduct difficult
conversations using the Harvard Negotiation model. The aim of a
difficult conversation is that instead of ONLY wanting to persuade
and get your way, you come to understand what has happened from
the other person’s point of view, explain your own, share feelings,
and try to figure out a way to go forward together
Participants will gain familiarity with the "What happened" conversation,
the "Feelings" conversation, and the “Identity” conversation.
Managing all this is essentially a practical endeavour, however. After
a brief exposition of the model, most of the workshop will comprise
'hands on' practice with real workplace dilemmas and experiences
using action methods.

W6: Exploring Attachment
The way we form relationships throughout our life is strongly
influenced by our early attachment relationship. Within this
experience our brains develop, our sense of self is formed and our
capacity for relationship with others is patterned. Moreno’s model
of child development along with the concepts of doubling, mirroring
and social atom repair can assist us to further understand the nature
of the attachment relationship.
In this workshop we will examine the links between attachment
theory and psychodrama theory and how they can inform each other.
We will explore the stage of the double and its influence on our lives
with particular attention to appropriate psychodrama interventions
for this stage of development.
