Training Agreement

Updated: January, 2022

  • When the PANZ Campus confirms enrolment in a Training Programme or listing as a trainee this Agreement is in place for the year.
  • When the PANZ Campus confirms enrolment for a specific workshop then this Agreement is in place for the duration of that workshop.

The purpose of psychodrama training is to build your capacities in assisting groups and individuals to develop spontaneity (adequacy, vitality, flexibility, originality and creativity) in dealing with complex challenges and everyday situations.

AANZPA’s Vision for Training

Our vision is of people all over the world expressing themselves relevantly in the ordinary here and now situations in which they live and work. This expression may be in silence, in learning, in building, in negotiating, in teaching, or in play. It is a responsive and creative expression that brings joy to the human spirit that uplifts the soul, that makes us feel part of the universe again.

PANZ Campus

The PANZ Campus agrees to:

  1. Provide a training programme that complies with the standards of AANZPA, Inc., detailed in its Training and Standards Manual and curriculum; and in accordance with the AANZPA Code of Ethics.
  2. Provide training and supervision by suitably qualified and accredited trainers.
  3. Provide trainees with reasonable access to staff.
  4. Respond to queries, concerns or complaints from trainees in a timely manner.
  5. Maintain the confidentiality of trainees, except where a duty of care or legal requirements overrule that duty of care (refer to the code of ethics), or where you give permission for information to be passed on to a third party. Trainee progress will be discussed at trainers’ meetings, within the institute and records of trainee assessments will be maintained.
  6. Refer trainees to appropriate personal development or supervisory resources, where it becomes apparent that trainees are experiencing some difficulty related to the training program.
  7. Keep records of training and supervision hours.
  8. Provide trainees with access to information regarding policies and procedures.
  9. Have a documented grievance procedure and disputes resolution process.

Trainee

As the trainee I agree to:

  1. Commit to taking part in training sessions and engage in writing assignments.
  2. Communicate clearly, and in a timely manner, with the trainer/s and the training group about any absences or latenesses from training events.
  3. Be familiar with, and abide by, the spirit and content of the AANZPA Code of Ethics.
  4. Respect the confidentiality of my training colleagues during or after each training meeting, by not discussing any personal information pertaining to any group member with anyone who is not a member of the group.
  5. Inform the Institute of matters that may affect the training or the Institute. This includes disclosing criminal convictions, mental health or addiction concerns, or any other matter that may affect training.
  6. Seek assistance when obstacles are encountered.
  7. Seek supervision for applications of the method in my work.
  8. Not advertise as a psychodramatist, sociometrist, sociodramatist or role trainer prior to certification.

As a trainee I understand:

  1. The training will include a range of learning opportunities, including experiential activities, as well as the direct application of different forms of the psychodramatic method and group work. These activities will at times elicit strong responses and challenge my attitudes towards others and toward myself. I understand that this aspect of the work is central to this type of training and I will be encouraged to explore these responses as learning opportunities. While the training staff will encourage me to participate in all activities, participation in all aspects of the training group is voluntary, and I may say ‘no’ to participate in any particular activity. If I become aware that I may encounter some difficulties in participating in particular learning experiences or activities, I will endeavour to bring this to the trainer’s attention.
  2. I am responsible for my own self-care including my physical and mental health.
  3. I am responsible for my conduct when relating to other trainees and may consult with the training group or with trainers if interpersonal problems with group members arise.
  4. Significant personal development is integral to the training and from time to time may require additional attention. Consultation with a trainer will be helpful in creating a workable plan.
  5. As training progresses I will be required to become an Associate Member of AANZPA and engage in supervision of my applications of the method.
