Psychodrama Psychotherapy
3-day workshop
Psychodrama maximises the presence of the relationship system and the body in the healing of trauma and the development of personality.
In this training event, we will:
- Pay close attention to the relationship between the forces arising in a group-centered warm up and the selection of the group’s protagonist.
- Renew our appreciation of production, that moves from felt experiencing and an intra-psychic orientation, to scenes from the original social atom.
The content focus can include:
- Deepening our appreciation of J.L. Moreno’s concepts of person including: role theory, and his spontaneity theory of child development, which inform our clinical meaning making.
- The cannon of creativity and production which mobilises spontaneity.
- Morenos’s encounter – what makes a relationship therapeutic.
- “According to telic theory, the development of telic sensitivity is closely linked with the matrix of identity and the development of the cerebral cortex. As maternal figures and infant slowly grow apart and the identity pattern weakens, telic reciprocity steps in and operates as the residual function.” (Moreno 1955)
We will consider the different contexts in which the psychodramatic method is applied including the strengths of psychotherapy with Groups, Couples and Individuals.
