Focus for 2023:
Enhance progressive functioning through the application of role theory in psychodrama and your everyday life
This year we will put our attention on sensitively and relevantly applying role theory to our life and relationships, understanding the personality, and relationships and using it to finely attune our awareness of what is happening moment by moment.
The ability to make accurate role descriptions to make meaning of our observations and experience of one another is central to all the specialities that make up Psychodrama: psychodrama, sociodrama, role training and sociometry.
Based on our assessment we make accurate interventions as life unfolds in front of us, so new roles and role systems can develop (social atom repair). Role analysis can be limited to specific functioning in a certain moment or can take into account a wide range of situations across the whole life of an individual to make up a complete personality profile.
We will be discovering how a social atom diagram portraying all people that are significant to an individual together with roles and role relationships is used to make powerful and relevant interventions in a wide range of applications.
Come prepared to display the systems you are in and receive supervision of your application of role theory and social and cultural atom in 1 to 1, family or group settings.
There is a requirement for trainees to practice the method in a Trainee Practice Group with a written report in between training sessions.
Who can attend?
This training programme is suitable for people who wish to apply the psychodramatic methods of group work, psychodrama sociodrama, sociometry and role training in their work and life. The group is structured to meet the needs of the different levels of experience of participants. Trainees will participate in group interactions and dramatic enactments as audience, protagonist, auxiliary and director.
If you are new to psychodrama, have not trained with us before or are returning after a long break from training, please contact us for a training conversation prior to enrolling to ensure you have the psychodrama experience needed to enter a training programme and our training programme will be a good match for you.
